slideshow At the Bartow Gordon Middle School Sports Association Girls Golf Region Tournament last Monday at the Calhoun Elks Golf Club, the Calhoun Middle girls team finished off a perfect season at 19-0 on the way to the region championship. The Lady Jackets clipped Sonoraville by five strokes with a team score of 99. Kate Mashburn led the way with low medalist runner-up round of 49, and Maddie Crump followed one stroke behind with a fine round of 50 to finish the Lady Jackets scoring. The other two ladies competing for Calhoun were Hannah Gresham with a round of 58 and Callie Dobson with a round of 59. Sonoraville?s Clara Hulsey was the low medalist with a round of 48.At the Boys region tournament last Tuesday at Fields Ferry Golf Club, the Calhoun Middle boys matched what their girls team did a day before by completing their own perfect 19-0 season on the way to their region championship. The Jackets breezed by Sonoraville by 13 strokes with a team score of 188. Brock Stewart paced the Jackets with his low medalist round of 42. Hunter Norman and Avery Dodd tied for the 2nd lowest round of the day with their scores of 46, while Nolan Reece had the last counting score for the Jackets with his round of 54. Spen Oliver with a 55 and Drew Gravitt a 56 were close behind. Both teams are coached by Roger Gresham.
