India's car sales grow 13% in Feb

(MENAFN) The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said that last month, car sales in the country grew 13.1 percent from a year earlier, reported Reuters.

The industry body added that in February, Indian carmakers sold 211,402 cars.

It also said that sales of trucks and buses jumped 18.7 percent from 2011 to
76,891 units, whereas sales of motorcycles went up 8 percent to 838,193 units.

It is worth noting that last July; demand for cars in India dropped for the first time in 3 years due to high interest rates and growing fuel costs.
