The Muffin Top Meltdown team update, week 2 ? The Full Moxie ...

Hello dear readers and competitors, it has come time for me to update you on the progress of all teams for week 2! Lots of continued good news to report, and everyone seems to be in good spirits, which is great. Sometimes the first week is easy to be enthused about, but by week two, when you realize some of the tougher changes have to stay, it can be a bit harder, but that doesn?t seem to be a factor for our teams this week!

Before I share the team updates however, I am excited to announce that this week, we will be asking you, our dear readers to vote for the team who has shared the best sounding or most original healthy snack idea. The team with the most votes will win professional teeth whitening from Dr. Rob A. Smith, D.D.S.! Dr. Smith is my own personal dentist and was very in support of everyone putting in true effort to take care of their health, and wanted to offer bright, shiny smiles to a pair of our weekly winners! If you are in need of a local dentist, Dr. Smith?s office is great! Also, Dr. Smith is one of few local dentists with special training in sedation dentistry ? so if you?ve been putting dental work off because of fear or anxiety, he can help you get through the experience in comfort and with ease. For more information on Dr. Smith?s family and sedation dentistry, please click here to be directed to his website. Thank you Dr. Smith for sponsoring this week?s winners!

?HERE TO VOTE? Check out our team updates and each team?s snack suggestions, then scroll down and choose your favorite snack by using the voting buttons. You may select up to three favorites, but you may only vote once. Be sure to click the vote button after choosing your selections. Sorry, comments of encouragement are welcome, but do not count as votes.

Week 2 Team Updates:

THE BIG BUTT THEORY (Amy and Linsey)

  • % of goal weight loss achieved week 2: 7% Though this number isn?t as high as the team would like, both ladies have been working out and eating well for a number of weeks, so they feel they are at a plateau, which is making losing weight a bit more challenging. That said, the weight lost this week takes Amy to her overall 20 lbs lost milestone (since Mother?s Day) which is awesome!
  • What they?ve been doing this week: The ladies have been swimming and doing Jillian Michael?s 30 Day Shred workout this week.
  • How they?re feeling: They?re feeling ok, but are kind of down about the rut/plateau
  • Snack suggestion: ?A great snack is turning plain Greek yogurt into a ranch dip and eating it with veggies. The plain Greek yogurt is very similar to sour cream, but less calories and TONS of protein, so it keeps you fuller longer.?

Ms. Fit Mavens (Krystin and Tawni)

  • % of goal weight loss achieved week 2: 42%
  • What they?ve been doing this week: The ladies are still eating clean, un-processed food and drinking lots of water. Daily activity is contributing to their success as well. Krystin went on a family vacation during the week and still managed to lose weight!
  • How they?re feeling: Tawni says, ?We are feeling great! The healthy changes we are making are really starting to become part of our new routines, which lends itself naturally to helping our entire families grow healthy habits. It?s a great feeling as a mom, to know you are setting healthy examples of nutritious eating and regular exercise for your kiddos.
  • Snack suggestion: We love Think Thin bars, and Luna Bars, they are great high protein snack for post workout. But our FAVORITE is these homemade protein bars from www.toneitup.comHigh Protein Peanut Butter Apricot Energy Bars

Ashley was discouraged, as she only lost a pound, but Mishelle is doing her best to be a good, supportive partner and reminded her that ?a pound is a pound!?

  • How they?re feeling: Sarah is feeling amazing after such successful weight loss and Ady is feeling a little down, but is trying to turn that into more motivation to be stricter about what she is putting into her body.
  • Snack suggestion: Ady is really enjoying eating fruits and nuts mixed with peanut butter. Some of the things she has paired with peanut butter: Celery, apple, nectarine, pear, granola, walnuts, almonds, and she even popcorn. All of which she found very tasty and filling.
