Demos Out-Polling GOP In Iowa Early Voting

?? CEDAR RAPIDS (CBS 2/FOX 28) - Democrats in Iowa seem to be doing twice as good as Republicans in getting voters to the polls early.
?? In numbers released Tuesday, two weeks ahead of the Presidential election date, Democrats are out-requesting, and out-returning Republicans by nearly 2-to-1.
?? Numbers from the Iowa Secretary of State's office show that 188,359 Democrats have requested to Vote by mail compared to 125,148 Republicans. In total, when combining ballots returned by mail or voters voting early in person Democrats have cast 159,802 ballots compared the the GOP's 104,384 votes.
??? In Linn County, Auditor Joel Miller's office has issued 39,104 absentee ballots, of which 26,366 l- or roughly 68% - have been returned.
?? Of the ballots returned, about 48% have been from registered Democrats, 24% are from republicans and just under 30% were returned by voters with no stated party affiliation.
?? The Obama re-election campaign says their three month long early voting campaign in Iowa is paying dividends saying in the past three months they've added more than 16,200 registered Democrats to the states voting rosters compared to slightly more than 2,400 republicans.Demos Out-Polling GOP In Iowa Early Voting
