Yonex Denmark Open 2012: Jan O Jorgensen overpowers Wong Wing Ki in Men?s Singles quarter-final

Jan O Jorgensen, an in-form shuttler from Denmark, keeps the hopes of his home fans alive as he reached into Men?s Singles semi-final after proving his worth in quarter-final contest against Hong Kong?s Wong Wing Ki at the Yonex Denmark Open 2012 in Odense, on Friday, October 19.

The World Number 14 Jorgensen, who has been one of the most consistent players in the last few tournaments, showed his elite skills and registered a convincing victory against Wing Ki who is currently placed at number 19 in the world ranking.

Jorgensen continued playing remarkable badminton as he did not let any of his opponents to dominate the arena in all of his matches in Denmark Open and remained consisted in the quarter-final as well.

The local shuttler played to his maximum potential and remained successful in winning the battle in straight sets of 46 minutes with a reasonable margin on the score board.

Right from the opening points of the match, both shuttlers played fast badminton by taking the bird early and managed to advance on score board equally.

Danish shuttler employed variations in his shots in opening half but failed to construct any considerable lead until the one-minute break.

In the concluding half, Wing Ki also tried to build up a reasonable lead but he failed to make it happened as his local opponent was in good control.

The score reached at 21-21 when Jorgensen played smart badminton and managed to end up the set with a dramatic 23-21 score on the board.

In the second game, both contestants again were toe-to-toe by playing at the same speed and managed to stay close until the end of first half.

After the one-minute interval, Jorgensen took over the control from his rival by becoming quicker at net and injected more power into his shots which helped to construct a reasonable lead.

Jorgensen played with remarkable precision in the ending points and won the set with a huge margin of 21-13.

The impressive Jorgensen won this quarter-final battle in straight games with a wonderful 23-21 and 21-13 score on the board.
